New Track Layout for 2010 British Grand Prix
As if the 2010 Formula 1 season wasn’t anticipated enough, Silverstone have come along and delivered a fantastic piece of news – a new track layout will be used for the British Grand Prix. This year’s event will be held on the new ‘Arena’ circuit layout which will improve overtaking opportunities. Silverstone is already an exciting track thanks to it’s high speed corners that flow from left to right but with the new changes racing is going to be even closer!
The adjustments made to the track will add an expected 4 seconds on to a standard lap time. Silverstone had already chosen to use the new layout for the MotoGP event later this year but now approval has been given from the F1 authorities.
The changes which have cost an estimated £5m are scheduled to completed in March and could be used for other events in the future.
