With Silverstone being in the middle of the country there is plenty to see and do around the area. Silverstone is in the county of Northamptonshire and has great transport links thanks to it being close to th M40 and M1 motorways. Whether you enjoy a family day out or a walk in the countryside followed by a nice pub lunch there is something for everyone. Silverstone Circuit
The world famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit is the main attraction at Silverstone and holds many events through the year. In 2010 the MotoGP, Formula 1 British Grand Prix and Classic events are all being held at Silverstone. The circuit also holds many track days and events throughout the year, one of which being a half marathon that thousands of runners take part in. If you are planning on attending an event at the circuit make sure you purchase your tickets in advance. Tickets for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix and MotoGP can get sold out months in advance, because this hotels near Silverstone also get fully booked. We strongly advise to book your hotel and race tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Warwick Castle
Travel a few miles up the M40 motorway and you will get to the medieval town of Warwick where you will find the historic castle. Open all year round it’s a popular destination if you have a family with activities and events taking place all day. Warwick Castle is the most famous castle in England and provides an exciting day out that will make you want to go back again and again. Towcester Racecourse
This horse racing course in Towcester, Northamptonshire hosts the Nation Hunt race meetings each year. One of the most famous and popular courses in England, Towcester Racecourse has a unique layout which tests both horses and riders and provides exciting races. Whether you are interesting in Racing or just want a day out, Towcester Racecourse is worth a visit.
Lamport Hall and Gardens
A short drive from the motorway, Lamport Hall and Gardens is set in a beautiful location in the heart of the English countryside. Lamport Hall contains a large amount of books, furniture, paintings and china which were brought back from Europe in the 1670s. The gardens are beautifully kept and are a pleasure to walk around, there are also guided tours. Facilities include a tea room, exclusive hire, events and a shop.
